Dakshin Kamrup College (Assamese: দক্ষিণ কামৰূপ মহাবিদ্যালয়) is an educational institution for higher education affiliated with Gauhati University.[1][2] The college is located in Mirza in the Kamrup District of Assam. At present the college has Arts, Commerce and Science streams with seventeen departments offering Major courses.[3]

History

The Dakshin Kamrup College was established in 1961 in Mirza. In the year 1972 the college shifted from its old premises to the present location. In 2005, The College was provincialised by the Govt. of Assam.[3]

Dakshin Kamrup College is a co- educational degree college affiliated with Gauhati University. At present the yearly enrollment of the college is approximately 5741 students. The College offered only art education till 1978. The science stream started in 1979. The college successfully completed a glorious 50 years in 2011.[4]

The college is situated in Mirza which is 6 km to the west of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati.[3]
