Joseph Kinsey Howard(Febuary 28, 1906- August 25, 1951) was an American news editor and leader of Great Falls ,a historian, and author. He was an influential role in Montana during the 30's and 40's and a nationally known author. His books brought him national attention but he also focused on Montana's social, political and economic struggles, and its cultural development. His most well known book is the Montana--High, Wide and Handsome. Many of the books and shortstories he contibuted to were published in several well known newspapers such as The Saturday Evening Post,The Nation, and Yale Review.
