Not Even Worth Discussion
Look at this. I am the first to post. Not a single person thinks this Eyl place is worth talking about. Yet it's a pirate city that holds ships captives. As we speak (today is Wednesday, Dec. 19 my time), there is one or more crude oil ships captured by pirates.
It is ridiculous that there is enough man power and military might to pound the country of Iraq back to the stoneage, but no one thinks to launch an assault on this tiny town full of (gasp!) PIRATES! Arg!!!
The Puntland government has acknowledged that they are relatively powerless to stop pirate activities.
"As of 2008 Eyl has become a pirate haven, with more than a dozen ships being held captive by pirate crews."
So go in there and take them back! It's rediculous that there are still people sailing about the world's ocean like Captain Hook and Smee, and that they're actually taking over crude oil ships. What is this. Neverland?210.133.127.14 (talk) 05:51, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
This is a joke
This village could be razed flat by a squadron of B-52. The USA has killed two million civilians in Vietnam using aerial bombardment, so I cannot see any reason to spare a bunch of pirates, who are enemies of mankind according to long-standing legal definition.
In the end, ship insurance companies may need to hire Porco Rosso style thugs to cleanse the pirates, making the world's armed forces look ridiculous. 82.131.210.162 (talk) 18:45, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
