USSR

Thank you for visiting my user page. First, I want to say, that I consider Mademoiselle Sabina at least the best friend of me, although I've never met her in real life. She is very nice at everything.

I am Russian (you can see; my English is not so good). I was born in the capital of a Soviet socialist republic and have been living there since then. Accidentally, I never went outside of the border of the former USSR.

Although in real life I have a Master of Science degree in math, studying for the Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) one, I contribute mostly to sports-related topics. Sometimes I also contribute to Soviet people-related and generally scientific articles.

I pay special attention to the article about Samantha Smith. The link is in bold because it is a featured article and it is has been on the Main Page. My dream is to visit and place flowers on her burial place in Maine. She is an angel.

Since my early childhood I have been willing to live eternally! However, I don't fear the death, because so many good people died.

I could say much more, if there would be no such strict restrictions, imposed on userpages in the article Wikipedia:User page.

Respect/credits

... (sorry if I've forgotten somebody)

Username origin

My username is the Russian word Старт listen written in Latin alphabet (Latin "m" looks like handwritten form of Russian "т", other letters look like corresponding Russian letters), it translates into English as Start.

Status

Mostly I edit gymnastics-related articles. My current primary tasks in this field are:

  1. making the article Nellie Kim, which I've been working on for a long time, to conform to the featured article standards
  2. adding more information into existing articles, correcting mistakes and omissions in them.

I also plan to create new Soviet female gymnasts-related articles. The ideal would be to have articles about all Soviet Olympic medalists in women's gymnastics one day. But it's way, way, way to go :))
