ValCom is a technology solutions company founded in 1983 and headquartered in Itasca, Illinois. ValCom offers technology solutions that include an IT Service Management and Project Management software suite named WebSPOC,[1] IT services, and Strategic sourcing.

ValCom Business Units

ValCom's organization is composed of 5 separate business units: Product, Security, Staffing, Professional Services and IT Service Management.

Product

The Product division includes virtual warehousing, imaging, deployment, and e-procurement services along with a host of technology partnerships including partnerships with: HP,[2] Lenovo,[3] Microsoft,[4] and SoftwareONE.[5]

Security

Security offerings range from digital forensics and security health checks to regulatory compliance, SOX, GLBA and HIPAA. ValCom is a PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) as recognized by the PCI Security Standards Council[6] .[7] One of ValCom's chief security solution architects is John Chirillo,[8] author of the Hack Attacks series of books.[9] Hence, ValCom's security slogan, "We didn't just write the book on security, we wrote the Library."

Staffing

ValCom's staffing division specializes in IT staffing for special projects and contract-to-hire staffing.

Professional Services

Desktop management, managed services, infrastructure, storage, network, and server management, special projects and service desk offerings comprise the Professional Services division.

IT Service Management

Business process analysis, ITIL best practices, and project management, six sigma, lean six sigma and other governance and compliance solutions makeup the IT service management business unit of ValCom. This division includes the WebSPOC software solution, which is PinkVERIFY certified[10] for ITIL best practices by Pink Elephant.

Brief history

ValCom was founded in 1983 as a hardware-driven company with a Fortune 500 account focus. In the early nineties, ValCom realigned the business to focus in IT services and later developed its own software to manage those services. In 2000, ValCom brought the tool to the web. ValCom spread into the Strategic Staffing Services sector the following year. In 2005, ValCom licensed its web-based tool, WebSPOC,[11] and offered it with SaaS,[12] hosted, or licensing options. ValCom's Security division earned PCI certification,[6] in 2008.
