Blanked Talk Page
Why did you blank my talk page, in effect deleting my account deletion request? Thanks. Michael S Wayne 23:42, 23 March 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waynems (talk • contribs)
- The concept of account deletion does not exist on Wikipedia. There is a right to vanish but I do not think you have done anything serious enough to justify its use. As the right to vanish page says, if you want to quit, just walk away - don't try and hide your past, just dismiss it as the folly of youth. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:39, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
Not trying to hide anything from my past, and youth passed me by long ago. I want to delete the account and make sure those in charge understand why. As I said before, several hundred hours were invested in updating high schools in Texas, and multiple, sometimes many, edits for individual schools were reverted over one or two small errors. This doesn't seem like an intelligent way to invite collaboration. Additionally, a Wikimedia continues to reject original artwork, claiming it exists in other locations on the web, and that it is highly unlikely I am the creator of the artwork. Many monitors and editors are rude, arrogant, and seem more concerned with formats than with content that is properly researched and accurate. Michael S Wayne 23:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- I hate it when I leave messages and people completely ignore them. If you had followed my link to the right to vanish page, you would have seen the words in bold: it is not possible to delete an account.. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
I hate it when people assume their messages were ignored. I will ignore the condescending tone and will simply ask a question: Aren't user pages the same as article pages? If so, I see articles deleted all the time. If not, count the information as a lesson learned. Michael S Wayne 09:14, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
- If you had followed my link to the right to vanish page, you might have seen the deletion of user talk pages section which explains why user talk pages are different. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:02, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
undeleted your deletion
You should probably see if a disambig page is truly unnecessary before deleting it... I recreated the route 625 page. —Famartin (talk) 10:58, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- What page am I accused of deleting? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- It was unnecessary at the time I deleted it because it contained only one link. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:46, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Stephen King (surveyor) redirect page
Hi RHaworth! I see you refused my request to speedily delete this redirect, which would have allowed me to make Stephen King (surveyor) the title of the article, for reasons which I listed. I have gone through this sort of process before without too much problem: I posted a note on Stephen King Jr.'s talk page a week or so ago and received no countervailing arguments.
The reason you gave for "unspeedying" it was that there were several articles that linked to Stephen King (surveyor). My intention was to rename Stephen King Jr. article to Stephen King (surveyor) as soon as that title was free, though the Admins who performed the task on those other occasions saved me the trouble.
Is there a better way to apply for moving an article over a redirect? Thank you for your service. Doug butler (talk) 12:13, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)@Doug butler: You can apply for the page mover right, which allows you to do exactly that. You'll generally need to have about 3,000 edits and been editing Wikipedia regularly for six months; then go to Wikipedia:Requests for permissions and ask. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:44, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- "Reasons which I listed" - so where did you list them. It is perfectly OK to do a non-templated speedy request listing reasons. The problem was that you used a bald {{db-maintenance}} tag thus. If you had use a {{db-move}} tag, I would have known what you were on about. But no need to do it now: simply acknowledge that you have read this message and I will willingly move Stephen King Jr. to Stephen King (surveyor) for you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:46, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Message received. I'll make a note of {{db-move}}. Doug butler (talk) 22:38, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
UK Railways station re-openings
Re: UK railway station openings / reopenings by year. You seem to delete a lot of pages RH, I wasn`t aware that Wikipedia was short of server space, is it ? This was not the first page I`ve started, but, do you know what ? Every other page had the same "we think this page should be deleted tag" put on it, then went on to get reasonable numbers of hits, every one, without exeception. What makes me even more annoyed is I didn`t want to waste my time starting a page then getting nto arguments with other Wikipedia editors so I put discussions on two Wikipedia railway pages and not only did nobody say we think that`s a bad idea, but nobody stated there was another page the same, which they wouldn`t because, as it happens, there isn`t. As far as I can tell that new page has been deleted and I`m pretty annoyed about it, to be frank I`ve got better things to do with my time.
Three pages I started (all proposed for deletion....)
- Erna Petri av page hits in last 20 days = 12 (= @4500 per year)
- Fiesta Nightclub av hits in past 20 days = 6 (= @2200 per year)
- "Operation Sea Lion : The Sandhurst Wargame" av hits in past 90 days = 66 per day (= @24,000 per year)
Maybe I do know a bit about what Wikipedia readers want to read ? And anyway, the page you think is a duplicate only goes back to 1995, I would have thought the page I started should go back to at least 1965, possibly all the way back ? -- JustinSmith (talk) 12:57, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @JustinSmith: "You seem to delete a lot of pages RH" - Don't worry, some of us restore them. Restored to Draft:UK railway station openings / reopenings by year. If you want to make top-notch list articles, speak to "Mr Featured List", The Rambling Man. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:33, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- What concerns me more here (apart from the deletion of an article over what was clearly an AfD issue at minimum, or the deletion of such a newly started article) was the fact that once again RHaworth was happy to speedy delete yet another article almost immediately, despite it being an obviously technically invalid CSD criterion, "[a] recently created article with no relevant page history that duplicates an existing English Wikipedia topic." Amazingly enough, GB railway history and the opening of stations is a little longer than just since 1995. A10 also has an explicit exclusion for the splitting or restructuring of large articles, and this topic is already recognised as filling its own category. This was neither a valid CSD nomination, nor an appropriate CSD on which to delete an article. As CSD is specific, Administrators should take care not to speedy delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. It is the function of CSD to clean up only the obvious detritus, not to go near anything where there is any scope for question, and this applies even though some administrators still seem to think they are also the arbiters of content issues. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:00, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Andy Dingley: Indeed. Unless the article is vandalism / hoax (WP:G3), libellous (WP:G10) or a copyright violation (WP:G12) there is generally no urgency to delete it, and moving it to draft or starting an AfD debate instead can sometimes be the better option as we won't get an editor storming off in a huff telling their friends not to bother with Wikipedia as all they do is delete your work. Or something like that. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:10, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Go and do some training for WMF / WMUK somewhere. Hear the "I wrote something and then it was deleted immediately with no discussion" stories - it's so often the same admin names that come up, over and over again. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:14, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

European userbox templates
I've created a separate list page for the userbox templates of each European nation. This has nothing to do with whether the nation is a member of the European Union or not. All European nations are listed at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Location/Europe#Nations of Europe and all European Union member states are listed at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Location/European Union#Member States. This has absolutely nothing to do with Brexit. I hope this works for you. Your aye, Buaidh talk contribs 03:00, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Draft: Donald Jacobs
Dear RHaworth, Could you send me the deleted article Draft:Donald_Jacobs to my email? Best regards, Oggyoggy (talk) 10:24, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Oggyoggy: Considering that it was deleted as "Unambiguous copyright infringement,"* it would probably be best if you started working on the draft again in your own words. Because of the deletion reason, I doubt that you will be able to find an administrator willing to email the content.
- I put the "*" up there as I am not an administrator myself and, as such, cannot view the contents of the deleted page to confirm how much was a copyright violation etc. However, if it was deleted as a copyright violation and did not just have the violation(s) removed and the history redacted, then it probably can be assumed that the majority (if not all) of the draft was a violation.
- I hope that this helps to answer your question. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. (talk page stalker) --TheSandDoctor Talk 17:14, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
please close this AfD
See: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gulone, Since you delete Gulone, thanks. Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 10:31, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Hhhhhkohhhhh: Done by RHaworth at 11:05, 2 April 2018. With that said, you can perform a non-admin close on discussions yourself if you notice that the page(s) nominated at an XfD have been deleted but the discussion not closed (more on when you can and cannot perform non-admin closes). I would recommend using XfDcloser when doing so (unless you prefer the manual way outlined in the administrator instructions link at WP:AFD,WP:MFD, etc). Hope this helps! This user needs to have talk page access removed. They've gone to using their talk page for non-Wikipedia communications of some sort, similar to the NOTHERE code communications they were originally blocked for. I've removed the latest from their talk page (added in this edit) and it may be appropriate for RevDel also. Thank you. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 16:02, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Retrieve draft request: Sandeep Kishore
Hello RHaworth, I hope you are having a good day. You recently sent me a message that my submission/draft would be deleted, rightfully so! Yes, I'm new. Even I have spots I cannot change. That said, I've been given the responsibility to draft and submit a qualifying wikipedia page for my boss. I personally believe Kishore should be granted a wikipedia page because of his artistic endeavors (he is a published author of poetry) and also to distinguish him from Dr. Sandeep Kishore, who is gaining in popularity. That also said, I have no doubt my submission was littered with bad markup and more.
I am requesting a restoration of the deleted draft or retrieval to user: or draft: space, whichever is appropriate. I would like to make revisions and re-submit. I have done a great deal of research into proper format but still find it difficult. I do have HTML experience but not citation experience. That is where I get stuck. Thanks for your continuing patience and assistance. Libbi Thevenet Preceding unsigned comment added by Libbi t (talk • contribs) 16:10, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- You do not need HTML experience to contribute to Wikipedia but you do need to understand references. The rule book says that drafts deleted as stale may be restored on demand so I have done so. However please wait until Sandeep actually becomes notable when someone with no CoI will write about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
File:Max Holloway UFC.png wrongfully delete
@RHaworth: The picture was indeed fair-use (Wikipedia) and permission wise.. and should never been deleted at all without reviewing the appeal.
- Under Twitter Rules - The Picture was from orignal user who set the Permission setting to public meaning anyone can see it and be auto allowed to use it without consent. (If the Picture Permission was set on private then we more likely not allowed to use it without asking)
- The picture was also credited also following Copyright rules above Twitter Rules. as contested on the speedy deletion was never viewed.
- The picture is part of the Plan to have all Former or Current UFC Fighters to have a picture ...by complying all rules which i did
I believe I followed all the rules 🥇BUSriderSFUser (talk • contribs) 21:02, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- Fair use is not usually allowed for images of living people. Therefore you must find an image where you can unambiguously demonstrate that it is available under a {{cc-by-sa-4.0}} or compatible licence. Then it may be uploaded to the Commons. Green Tomato Cars
Hi Roger, I was notified that you deleted the Green Tomato Cars page and I was wondering you if you could please detail what part of the page you thought was too promotional? I look forward to hearing from you. CJGC — Preceding unsigned comment added by CJGC (talk • contribs) 15:23, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)@CJGC: I had a look too. While "Toyota’s recall of its Prius cars worldwide over brake fault at the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 has caused a big blow to Green Tomato Cars as Toyota’s eminent client in the UK." uses flowery language, writing about a recall that causes financial difficulties of a company is hardly "promotional!" Restored, cleaning up now. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:42, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

- Haworth, learn not to patronise inexperienced users and help improve new articles, and not trash-talk those who don't understand the technical gobbledegook. You know how a "search" button works, right? I've already warned you a few times about not adhering to policy and being uncivil, and you've been mentioned at AN recently as the "anti-SoWhy" ie. you are taking too broad a stance over the CSD policy. So next time I spot a very obviously wrong deletion, I want you to explain yourself thoroughly before somebody yanks you to AN / ANI and forces it out of you. Contrary to what you might think, I have no desire to create a desysop-via-Arbcom casse whatsoever (not least as a filing party I'd probably be admonished or worse too), I just want you to understand there is a problem, and for you to understand what you need to do to fix it. Information sharing
Re: . Hello there - I am writing you today in response to your speedy deletion of the Draft:Oil and Natural Gas Information Sharing and Analysis Center. I work for a company that is involved in research pertaining to cybersecurity in the United States. In my research on Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs), I came across the Wikipedia page for the National Health ISAC (NH-ISAC) and decided to create a similar Wikipedia page for the Oil and Natural Gas ISAC (ONG-ISAC) because it did not yet have one. My confusion lies in the fact that a page like that of the NH-ISAC was approved, but a similar page that I wrote on its counterpart, the Oil and Natural Gas ISAC (ONG-ISAC), was not approved. I referenced a substantial amount of public articles/organizations that discuss the group and gave an in-depth history about Information Sharing and Analysis Centers. In no way did I promote the Oil and Natural Gas ISAC's services. I also provided sufficient background information on the subject as a whole.
I understand that the subject of cybersecurity might not be the most easily understood, but I have provided a enough information to give readers a base knowledge and continue reading more about the topic. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to reverse your decision, as it would be nice for this organization to have a page like its counterparts. Best, Matt — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mbarton52 (talk • contribs) 17:35, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Why one deleted and the other survived? Mainly luck of the draw. NH-ISAC is only fractionally better than your submission. Iff you have no CoI, take time to actually look at other articles here and avoid obvious errors like: copyvio, naked URLs, not using list markup, infobox near the end, etc.! (Providing evidence of notability would also help.) — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:43, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Comedian Nazareth
Dear Mr. Haworth: Hello. Hope all is well. I was wondering why Comedian Nazareth's page is getting deleted and was never published on Wikipedia. Comedian Nazareth is an Internationally known comedian and has been doing comedy for over 28 years. He has appeared on many Television shows and continues to appear on various networks. He performs around 120 shows per year at Stadiums, Sports arenas, churches, and other venues. He's been featured on different newspapers and magazines. He wrote two books and one is ready to be published on Amazon.com (Hope in 24 Hours) his website is http://www.NazarethUSA.com . Facebook page has with over 9200 followers / Over 12000 on his constant contact page and 100,000 in the mailing list. Two movies on Pureflix. - Wrong answer again, it was actually deleted because the draft hadn't been edited for six months and can be restored on request as per policy - we are lenient towards drafts and there is no evidence the above editor has any connection with Nazareth. Do you have a recall criteria? PS: I laughed at this, I can't wait to see what Nazareth's got on Trump.... Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:51, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Was that page previously deleted as a result of an XFD discussion? Because I didn't find one... if the page hasn't been, G4 does not apply and the article can't be deleted per that criteria. Please let me know. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:16, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

- I think it's probably WP:ARTSPAM and worthy of deletion but it certainly wasn't G4 and I think an answer is warranted. Calling Oshwah a pedant for asking about an admin action (which should and is subject to scrutiny from the community) is really uncalled for, especially given the re-deletion and subsequent salting.
