2.0 is the soundtrack, to the 2018 Indian-Tamil science fiction action film of the same name. The film score was composed by A. R. Rahman & Qutub-E-Kripa, provided additional BGM for the film. Recording of the original score began in A.R. Studios, London and Panchatan Hollywood Studios, Los Angeles in 2016.[2] Unlike previous projects, Rahman began finalizing the original background score six months back prior to release because he felt that the scenes were very heavy and it needed a lot of work.[1]

The official film score consists of fifteen tracks with nearly a duration of nearly forty minutes. The film score was marketed and released on 29 June 2019.[1]

Critical Reception

AR Rahman began the background score 6 months back since he felt the scenes were very heavy and it needed a lot of work. Now when I look at the background score, it looks like listening to Batman or Spiderman's background score. The complete credits for this project should be given to producer Subashkaran because no one else would have been ready to produce a big budget film like 2.0 except him.[1][3]

— Shankar in an interview, about 2.0, explaining the film's score

According to Rahman, he worked for a year on the soundtrack and background score.[citation needed] Highly electronical rock music[4][5] has been used for this soundtrack. According to rahman, he worked 4 year on the soundtrack & background score. Highly electronical rock music[6] [7] has been used for this soundtrack. From some experts review that this soundtrack was a unique in Indian Music Industry, no other composers have done this type of scoring in any film before. Surprised about A.R.Rahman didn't win National Film Award for his scoring[8] And make despite his hardwork &appreciationput & hardest pecially work to the background score and wide appreciation he hasn'trecieved the awards or other accolades he deserved. This conflict has emerged after a mid of 2019.[9][10]
