Summary

Description
English: Millstreet railway station
A CIE 001 class locomotive stops at Millstreet with a Tralee bound passenger train. The railway line from Mallow to Tralee opened in stages between 1853 and 1859. Millstreet was a block post and the train driver can be seen exchanging the single line staff with the signalman - the staff gives permission for the train to enter the next block section on this single line. Millstreet had an unusually low island platform, which was seldom used.
