From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *ḱóm (“with, near, by, along”). Cognate with Latin cum (“with”).
Prefix

- Indicates association or togetherness; co-.
- Indicates completeness or wholeness. In verbs, also indicates perfectivity (a finished action).
