Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀆𑀕𑀤 (āgada) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-),[1] from Sanskrit आगत (ā́gata).[2] Cognate with Punjabi ਆਇਆ (āiā) / آیا, Marathi आले (āle).
