Photo gallery: Michigan football wins national championship game

HOUSTON -- Counted against, counted out, with tons of adversity -- none of it ended up mattering. Michigan football won the 2024 College Football Playoff and the national championship following the 2023 season.

After taking down Alabama in the Rose Bowl, the Wolverines had to get past Washington. But the maize and blue struck first, going up 14-3 in the early going, before Washington started to make it a game. However, the defense stood tall, allowing just 13 points while Michigan added two touchdowns late to put the game away and win the national championship.
