Hello there, Apa khabar, 你好. Thank you for visiting my blog and I am grateful to have you here. My name is WoonHeng Chia. Through this blog, I wish to share with you my passion for creating plant-based cuisines, usually made with an Asian twist. I love to veganize foods from various countries and cultures by exploring plant-based alternatives.
It makes me elated every time when I successfully veganize a popular dish because this means people can now enjoy their favorite dish without hurting any animals. By putting more diverse and delicious plant-based options out there, I hope this will encourage people to try adopting a plant-based lifestyle, one meal at a time.

As you scroll through my blog, you will notice Malaysian cooking plays a major influence in my cooking style. I am so lucky to have grown up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a city filled with diverse cultures, which allowed me to have tasted a wide variety of cuisines from a very young age.
Malaysia is best known as a foodie haven with a wide array of delicious foods, all thanks to it being a melting pot of ethnicity. In addition, Malaysia is a tropical country that offers a wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and spices all year long. While in Malaysia, I enjoy shopping in the morning outdoor markets, ‘pasar pagi’, for my daily fresh produce. There’s just an endless possibility of creating many tasty dishes using fresh produce. The sights and sounds of a morning outdoor market are just something you have to experience yourself if you ever visit Malaysia.

So, how did this blog start? One day my daughter asked if I could write down my delicious recipes for her so she can make them when she lives by herself. Her request just melted my heart and I thought “it was a great idea!”. Therefore, I started to share my recipes on my Instagram account @woon.heng. I never expected to gather so much support on the platform. I’m really honored to have built an amazing and supportive community and thankful for all the wonderful remakes of my recipes and encouragement that keep me going.
I have received lots of feedback wishing that I had a YouTube cooking channel and a blog so they can share and follow along to make dishes with family and friends easily. I truly hope this blog will provide you some ideas for either making plant-based meals from time to time, or trying to adopt a full-time plant-based diet. If you wish to receive my latest recipes, please connect with me through social media or sign up for my newsletter. Again, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have fun trying out my recipes. Let’s get started by making some of my popular recipes.
Much love,
WoonHeng
