Sergeant Gary Fink says they started cleaning the cemetery last year.
When they first started, he said it was so overgrown that you couldn't walkthrough.
He says projects like this are important to the department because they help build a better relationship with the community.
"We do protect, but we also help serve. Working with the community on community projects helps build a stronger bond and trust. Trust constantly needs to be worked on, especially across the nation," said Fink.
He says they plan to have about 350 plants planted, the entire cemetery will be mowed and weedeated.
They also will be clearing all brush.
Fink says even though they spent all day cleaning up, there are more projects to be done there.
