It is one of the busiest days for pizza sales around the U.S., behind on Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Eve, and Halloween.

The Thanksgiving holiday is a surprisingly good time for the pizza business.

In fact, it is one of the industry’s biggest days, behind only Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Eve, and Halloween.

DeFelice Bros. Pizza in Wintersville sees this firsthand.

"Our sales do increase on this day dramatically," said Ed Burrows, general manager, Wintersville DeFelice.

Burrows says it’s a day they for which they stock up heavily.

"I have tons of flour, pizza sauce, cheese, we will not run out for any pizza for anyone who wants to order," Burrows said.

About 1 million pizzas are made on this day around America.

And as DeFelice won’t make that many, the company expects to make many pies.

“Oh, it’s been very crazy,” said Tara Krulcik, shift manager. “.. We're going to be prepping about 75-100 pizzas."

Considering recent labor shortages hitting the country, this DeFelice location has things under control.

But they're always looking for more.

Owner Dom DeFelice says staffing is something they've struggled with, but they’re doing well at present, with the priority being on service.
