Johnson Chua is an active nature photographer based in Singapore that have been making waves lately. His other work (the kingfisher perching on a lotus leaf pictured above ) have generated millions of views worldwide.
Johnson Chua He uses Canon EOS 1DX Mark II and Canon 5DSR cameras with Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Canon E 400mm f/2.8L II USM and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens.
He shoot mostly in f/8, in manual mode, using back button focus, no flash, on video head and tripod, and with mirror lock up if shuttle speed is low.
Nothing beats learning from the field and from experienced fellow photographers. Watching how they shoot was an opener and listening to how they talk about it was educating and at times entertaining. Each photographer is unique and he try learnt what they do best and to practice it.
