I learned how to write when I was 5 years old and I was in first grade. I liked to write phrases about my mom. My favorite was “mi mama me ama, mi mama me mima, amo a mama” These phrases were very easy to write and I felt good when my mom congratulated me for my writing. Then my mom asked to write the word “salt” in a salt shaker, but my siblings didn’t believe that I wrote it. During my elementary school years I wrote a lot essays. The topics were just about daily activities. I enjoyed it a lot and we included a drawing related with the topic in each essay. In contrast on middle school and high school I didn’t like to write. I think my teachers were too bored and I didn’t have enough motivation to do that. Besides my specialization in high school was business and it didn’t require to write too much. After graduated in high school I began to work as a secretary in a company and I had to write every day letters and emails. In that moment I regret not having studying in high school writing. Immediately I began to read and study writing by my self. A few years later I enrolled in college and I studied to be a teacher, my writing skills improved. Then I moved to United States and I began to work as a Realtor. I needed to write in English, It was so hard for me. I tried to avoid it and always asked my relatives to do it for me, but with the time they were tired of me. Because I really needed to learn how to write letters, emails and communicate in English with my clients, I decided to study by my self. I watched 2 or 3 videos online daily. It helped me a lot! At present I am studying to take the test to get my state teacher certification. I am writing essays about all topics. It is hard for me because my vocabulary in English is mostly for business. My goal is to make a 600 words essay in 25 minutes. I am sure I will get it if continue practicing and taking my writing lessons.
