BRANDON SUTHERLAND Brandon has been dancing, choreographing and acting from a very young age, choreographing his first show at the age of 14 for the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond. He has obtained a degree in Dance Choreography and in 2022 set up his own dance company, ‘Sutherland Dance’. Since graduating, Brandon has gone on to choreograph and perform for Stage, TV and Film, as well as a successful career in dance teaching across venues around London.

Then let us bring you one toe-tapping step closer with our Musical Theatre Dance Course! In this upbeat and fun dance class for adults, you can expect to work on a hybrid of show tunes all designed to get your feet moving and heart pumping.
Our top industry professionals will help you work through fun and upbeat routines from a variety of much loved musicals. You’ll develop techniques to help you storytell through dance in these dance lessons in London. Term by term these dance classes will take you through the technique of iconic musical styles inspired by legends including Bob Fosse, Gene Kelly, and Jerome Robbins.
For this Musical Theatre Dance course, you don’t need to be the best dancer, we are just looking for a readiness to learn, energy and passion. No experience is necessary! Just the willingness to have fun and give it a go. All ages over 18 are welcome.

A class could consist of a combination of techniques (such as learning particular styles or moves such as chaîne turns or Pas de Bourrée, alongside learning a full routine to a number.
Musical interpretation: Musical theatre dancers are first and foremost actors, and place a high focus on musical interpretation.
Choreography: Classes can help boost creativity in choreography.
Technical training: Classes can help perfect technical skills.
Jazz movement: Musical theatre performers should have basic musical theatre jazz movement skills. Jazz dance can help with flexibility and stamina, and can provide a base for other dance styles.
Becoming a musical theatre dancer takes a lot of time and work, you need to build up your stamina if you plan to do it professionally as a 8 show week can become very demanding on your body. Start with the basics and do classes courses in Jazz and then move on to musical theatre dance courses. If you’re just doing it for fun or as a hobby then staying flexible is important, but also having rhythm and musicality.
Most people start with taking a few classes here or there, and those who take it a bit more seriously would enrol with an accredited institution.
