Elle Duncan
that partly landed on air two months ago, has quickly found a new job at 11 Alive.
In a text message, Brown said the specifics of her job at the NBC affiliate have not been clarified yet. "Been in the works for a long time now, finalized it early December tho,"Â Brown wrote. "I love it here. Working with an amazing group of ppl."
11 Alive Tweeted today that she is on the "11 Alive Help Desk" today helping with storm coverage.
I also texted Ellen Crooke, news director at 11 Alive, for details. It's a busy morning. I'll update this if I get a response.
Brown, who worked at V-103 for about six years, had been a producer for the morning show Frank & Wanda, then was moved to Ryan Cameron's afternoon show. While she was producing Cameron's show in early November, she got into an argument with Duncan (who does entertainment and sports for Frank & Wanda) over sweet potato pie left over in the kitchen from a holiday potluck. Reportedly, Brown then accidentally sent a text badmouthing Duncan to Duncan. That set Duncan off. She entered the studio and began bad-mouthing Brown, who turned the live mike on so the entire V-103 audience could hear a choice segment of it.
"Stop with that s*** too Nina, like you’re so [bleepin'] holier than thou!†Duncan is heard saying.
The station has a 45-second delay and this could have been excised after the fact. But it was not.
Management was not pleased. In the end, Duncan was suspended for a week. Brown did not come back to V-103.
Brown has not discussed the incident publicly.
In October, before that happened, I was part of a social media panel sponsored by 11 Alive and Metromix which included Brown, who is very active on Twitter. She has more than 23,000 followers.
