As amazing as Lily James and Sebastian Stan are in their “Pam & Tommy” lead roles, the show’s soundtrack at times nearly steals the show. Hulu’s miniseries depicts “Baywatch” actor/Playboy model Pamela Anderson and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee’s marriage – and the cultural shifts the couple’s stolen sex-tape begat. “Pam & Tommy” premiered Feb. 2. The eighth and finale episode, titled “Seattle,” drops March 9.
The very watchable miniseries uses music in a very Quentin Tarantino way, almost to the point of it being another character in the ‘90s-set piece. Everything from vintage Big Star garage-rocker “Feel”, to Stereo MC’s dance hit “Connected,” to Dolly Parton’s country ballad “I Will Always Love You.” Alas, no Motley Crue tunes though.
