Alabama the Beautiful.
It's not just a travel slogan; it's a fact. If you've had the chance to explore the state of Alabama, you know it's an amazing place filled with natural wonders.
Alabama is one of the most biodiverse states in the nation and it is just as rich in geologic diversity.
From breathtaking sunsets over the gulf's white-sand beaches to the sweeping views from Cheaha Mountain, Alabama's landscape is like no other.
The beaches, forests, lakes, and rivers in our 21 state parks are teeming with flora and fauna. The Mobile River System is America's Amazon. Our golf courses aren't too bad either.
So what specially does the Alabama the Beautiful motto refer to? I'll be trekking across Alabama to find out.
Starting Tuesday, I'm setting out to photographically explore the stunning locales Alabama is known for. I'll be rolling down the windows of my trusty old truck and cruising along some dusty back roads looking for some hidden treasures as well.
That's where you come in.
I'm looking for suggestions of must-see stops as well as gems off the beaten path. And of course, an Alabama road trip wouldn't be complete without stopping to grab some delicious grub along the way, so don't forget to tell me about some places to try some tasty bites as well.
