Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, mid-1960s, picture of a class of boys at the Al-Thager secondary school. Faisal bin Abdul Aziz - the King of saudi Arabia from 1964 to 1975- founded the school in Taif in the early 1950s and subsquently opened a large campus in Jeddah. The 'model' school became the most prestigious in the city with children of the Royal family attending. One can see that the boys wear 'western-style' school uniforms rather that Arabian clothing of thobes and headresses. The English language was widely taught. Osama bin Laden attended Al-Thager from 1968-1976.
