Thousands of Oxford United fans lined the city centre of Oxford to celebrate the promotion of Oxford United to the EFL Championship after beating the Bolton Wanders in the League One playoff at Wembley on the weekend. The crowds, decked out in yellow, cheered loudly and let off yellow flares as the open-top bus carrying the team and staff slowly moved along the High Street to the Oxford City Town Hall, where they attended an invite-only civic reception. The Oxford United flag flew over the Oxford City Council building in celebration.
