ALL IN THE BIX

Ciara's Bixie Haircut Left Me Speechless, Deceased

Ciara offers her take on one of 2022's hottest hair trends.

We don't think we've seen a hairstyle on Ciara that we didn't like. Locs, a blonde bob, waist-length red hair: The "Ride" singer quite literally never looks bad in any style, cut, or color she chooses to wear. Her middle name may be Princess, but if you ask us, she moves like a bonafide queen in the hair department.

And while, yes, the singer is something of a chameleon, she's favored her waist-length, honey-highlighted waves for quite some time. It's pretty much her go-to. But we're entering spring soon, and we think the occasion calls for a little bit of a refresh, no?

It appears the "One, Two Step" singer agrees. Ciara's newest Instagram post shows her with a brand-new cut: a bixie, which she wore to the 2022 Billboard Women in Music Awards. She's had short hair before, but this time, it's got some some volume thanks to a well-placed side part. The rest of the hair is combed back behind each ear, hanging at chin level. The texture is almost wet-looking.

We also suspect that Ciara made some color changes — gone are the money-piece highlights we saw her with just days ago. In their place? Darker, thoroughly-blended chocolate brown tones. There are still highlights, though — they're just pieced in and blended further down mid-shaft, giving the overall look a rooty vibe. Now, we're not sure whether this cut was done on her actual hair, or if it's a wig, but one thing we can confirm is Cici looks damn gorgeous.

The rest of her look is on point, too. Her nude nails are long and oval-shaped. On the makeup tip, she's working with some shimmering gold eye shadow blended with a dark brown at the outer corners, groomed brows, and a glossy nude lip. We obviously can't ignore her outfit: She's in a cheetah print Roberto Cavalli number with a cape (not a want, but a need) and a built-in leather harness that adds a hard element to what is otherwise a soft and flowy gown.

Personally, we can't wait to see how Ciara styles her new 'do, and hope to see some incredible nail art to go along with it.
