RISK®* Maps

This seems where everyone is placing maps, so here goes.

I was bored so I started making random scenarios on a RISK® board so I had an idea,
What you do is you take the blank risk map (below) and use it to create a unique RISK® scenario. You set a time and create major nations and alliances as realistically as you can and create an alternate history for the time period as you play. I will provide an example post.

I was going to say we finally have a 3-way Cold War, in fact the neutrals are in the strongest position, except that of course in Risk you don't get cold wars.

In a 2-player RISK® game, the neutrals don't attack, they're just there to defend.
Same here...

...and the Cold War became hot.....it's called alternate history....

How many troops are in each territory?
When does this take place?
Who owns what territories?
EDIT:looks like you divided some territories
Didn't think about that. I understand what you are looking for now. I will make a new map.

that map looks sweet!

I hate to say it, but using Risk to create alternate history is like using your car to crack open walnuts. It just doesn't make sense.
Hey, the walnut gets opened, doesn't it?

Besides, I sometimes get the impression that a lot of AH stories are written assuming the world works like Risk *coughDrakacough*.

Here is my contribution... I present... Risk 1984! :D

(sorry this is pdf, I didn't know how to make this file smaller... :( )

So true, Ivan... so very true in regard for the Draka...

Nice, but you should mention how many troops are in each territory.

Uh, good question, I honestly didn't think about that. Let's say that the three powers should be about evenly sized in regard for their numbers.

Try saving it as png.

It was originally png... 900 kb large... and the upload hence said 'nay'... :(

The thing is with that map, if we're using the standard Risk setup, is that Oceania will win easily. No contest. They have the +5 bonus for N America, +2 for S America, another +2 for Australasia, and also about half the territories on the map.
Unless you set it up so that the other two have more armies to start with, that game won't last a dozen turns.
Correct me if I'm wrong, by the way...

Well, you could change some of the rules to make it fit into 1984.

The nations can't beat East Asia because of its industrial might, so... let them get extra troops per turn.
Eurasia because its land so vast (something like that) so... the nation's could only attack a limited number of Eurasian territories per turn.
And Oceania, The Oceans are in the way, so, no change there.

Nice, I actually made this up only now!:D
I wonder how this could work in a real Risk game, hmmmm.

Wait, since when is Iceland and Scandanavia linked?
