Our Outreach Team is always coming up with ways for our congregation to serve, and seeks to provide many opportunities and options so that everyone can participate in some way. While we have some traditions that we look forward to each year, we are also trying new things all the time! Check our calendar and newsletters for upcoming ways to serve!
Some of our traditions include:
- Packaging meals at Meals from the Heartland
- Serving a “Simple Supper” at Adventure Life Church (a ministry of Caring Hands Food Pantry)
- Collecting supplies for hygiene kits through Church World Service
- Serving meals and collecting supplies for YESS (Youth Emergency Shelter Services)
- Cooking casseroles for the Salvation Army Breakfast Canteen
We also have some ongoing collections:
- Non-perishable items for our local Caring Hands Food Pantry
- Plastic and paper grocery sacks for the Salvation Army food pantry
- Pop-can tabs for Ronald McDonald House
- Children’s Books for visitors at the Polk County Jail.
We give regularly to:
- Caring Hands Food Pantry & Rental/Utility Assistance
- Des Moines Area Religious Council
- Week of Compassion, our denomination’s disaster relief, refugee resettlement, and sustainable development agency
- Regional Ministries (regional campgrounds and staff benefiting many churches and children)
