    The starter was an almost perfect match for my Craftsman snowblower. The starter itself lined up and installed without any issue. The plastic housing for the power cord and starter button didn't line up exactly like the original. I dealt with it by using a drill to create two new holes in the metal shielding on the snowblower. I got everything screwed back into place and the starter works perfectly.

    Unable to contact seller directly so this is my review of the product! I hope the seller is willing to assist in this matter and if so I will retract my review and repost a new review!
    Purchased October 2023 and used maybe a dozen times. Went to use machine today and first start of the season no issues and then attempted to start it a second time and the starter drive just spins, doesn't engage the flywheel and if it does it just kicks out!
    Starter should last longer than a year or a dozen starts considering the original was 40+ years old before it failed!

    I read a few reviews that indicated the motor didn't work or got stuck in the ring gear. I tried it on the bench before installing it and found it to be quire sticky (drive gear wouldn't slide out on the shaft).
    Note...the starter came clean with no lubricant on it at all. I lubricated the exposed shaft with white grease and worked the drive along the shaft with a screwdriver a few times and then it started working as it should. Once installed it worked perfectly and has been used a few times in the last month. Still working well.
