Product description

Lead-singer and front-man Andrew Eldritch is regarded as a major influence on the eighties gothic rock wave with his black hair, bass-baritone vocal style and pale and thin look. In 1980 he formed the Sisters Of Mercy who released three successful albums in the eighties, in 1986 he formed Sisterhood as a side project (one album “The Gift”) and in the same year The Mission who debuted with the album “God’s Own Medicine”. With producer John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin/ Them Crooked Vultures bassist) on their second album “Children” The Mission moved musically a bit to ZEP-style hard rock. From 1986 to 2016 The Mission released 11 studio albums and 20+ singles/12”/E.P.’s. The last part of this 3 CD digipack is filled with extended and special mixes of the pioneers of gothic.     lol be always been a fan of the mission since the 80s and they’ve never really disappointed to deliver. Even though their line ups have changed through the years. For me this is the best version of their hits because it’s the first hits album to include songs from all of their albums.

    I’ve really enjoyed listening from their early songs to their recent singles.

    A good compilation of The Mission’s songs covering most of their albums. It is a shame that Swan Song is the singles version and not the longer version with the guitar solo. 2 of the discs are in plastic trays but the third disc is only in a cardboard sleeve.

A single cover with separate sleeves for each record. This issue aside, I can only recommend this highly. If you're a fan of The Mission, you must have this.
