I actually thought these clips would be somewhat smaller than they are. I have extremely thick and heavy hair and use little clips to portion and clip back some of the middle top section of my hair. Everything I find in the market is pointless for me because the claws are either narrow or have very little grasp. I bought these because the claws are long meaning they will open really wide and hold a lot of hair.It is extremely strong and great quality. Because it holds more hair than I was previously used to, I have had to change my hairstyle slightly to fit the clip. While not ideal, it is a much better option than clips/claws that don't hold enough. I would recommend them.

    Having said that, however, they are still good value. I found the black ones were fine, but the rods fell out of the brown ones! The first was a shock as it shot out, and I had to hunt for it so as to avoid the puppy getting it. However once I knew to test them, I could do that fine, and I still ended up with some great value clips.

    I find these excellent for putting up my jaw length wavy hair at night to stop frizz. They work well when damp too to lift the roots up while I sleep.
