Customers find the bonding adhesive useful for repairing damaged items like aquarium jump guards and toys. However, some have differing opinions on its bond strength, functionality, value for money, and evaporation rate.
AI-generated from the text of customer reviews
Customers appreciate the bonding adhesive's ability to repair items. They mention it's good for repairing toys that have received some damage and stemming the progress of cracks.
"...Worked exceptionally well. Also stemmed the progress of anther crack which was spreading day by day. Well pleased with this product." Read more
"I’ve successfully repaired my aquarium jump guard that I thought would not glue back together...." Read more
"...welding hard plastics back together again - it's particularly good for repairing toys that have received a bit of rough treatment and snapped as the..." Read more
Customers have mixed opinions about the bond strength of the adhesive. Some find it sticks most plastics together well, especially hard ones like toys. Others report that it doesn't stick as well as other plastics, and some joints failed.
"...the thin edges made a solid bond using this stuff." Read more
"...But once complete, I reapplied and the join set solidly and I'm confident that this will last. If I could offer any advice, it would be to prepare...." Read more

"...stage I used my microscope to inspect, and yes, it does melt the parts to get them to bond (capillary action), the items I was sticking did not bond..." Read more
Customers have different experiences with the bonding adhesive. Some say it works well on transparent and coloured materials, like acrylics, plexiglass, and plastic building blocks. Others report it doesn't work on plastic or outdoors in windy conditions.

Finally, a product that worked with my acrylics and plastics, I am quite pleased with it

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 January 2025worked great for welding 3d printed parts together. the part in question was a face mask, which had to be printed in parts to fit the bed of my machine. the thin edges made a solid bond using this stuff.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2016The battery door clip from a Panasonic TV remote had broken off. I had used superglue to repair a number of times previously, but this didn't hold for long. I was drawn to this product since it is a "weld" rather than sticking surfaces together.
My first attempt using this wasn't successful and I think that was because I made a mess of it. But the join was still malleable and I detached it. I found it to be important to remove all the old glue which I hadn't done a brilliant job of. But once complete, I reapplied and the join set solidly and I'm confident that this will last. If I could offer any advice, it would be to prepare. Position the broken item with (say) masking tape and then use the plastic weld. The glue itself is quite "watery", so application with a modelling paint brush is probably the best choice. It's "not" like a superglue "goo". Beware of vapours because this plastic weld glue has a strong odour. I can see me using this for quite a few repair jobs over the years and happy with it so far, since its saved me the cost of a £50 original Panasonic remote control. Good stuff if used carefully.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2024I tried various products earlier, many failed, but this one finally worked at last,... I used it with my acrylics and the results were quite impressive.
I put the 2 parts together, used a syringe to take some liquid out, an gently poured it around the edges, I had to put a little firm pressure on the parts as recommended by the manual, used my hand to press, after about 10 seconds I removed my hand and left it alone, I could see straight away that the liquid was "starting" to work, at this stage I used my microscope to inspect, and yes, it does melt the parts to get them to bond (capillary action), the items I was sticking did not bond strongly initially, I had to disappear to do something and then came back after 20 minutes and the joint was rock solid, it was "eureka" moment for me.
Ok, so the product works, but what I hope as "improvement" can be by including some brush within it's like like other products, or a little syringe to come with it, other than that the product worked as I was hoping for, could do better maybe with some faster curing times, but it's not too bad after all.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2024Bought this to hopefully repair a skylite on our caravan which had broken along the full length of the hinge. Worked exceptionally well. Also stemmed the progress of anther crack which was spreading day by day. Well pleased with this product.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 November 2024ok but no good for thicker plastic
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 November 2024Not tried yet
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2024Disliked did not work.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 November 2020Low viscosity, meaning it will run along the joint between surfaces (capilliary action): the "Thickness" score is not meaningful so ignore it (kept it clear, not zero stars). It dries very quickly. As it contains dichloromethane, it bonds PETG (and others) by chemical means rather than adhesion. You will need to apply pressure to ensure surfaces are suffuciently close in order to bond well. I also purchased TENS*L, which was much thicker (as powerful, but does not flow so well). For PETG and similar plastics, PlasticWeld is an excellent, very powerful product. If used correctly it out performs superglue, G*rilla glue, etc (as they do not chemically bond).
For 'Airfix' plastics, use Contacta or similar is better for that application, and much safer too.
YOU MUST VENTILATE THE WORKAREA DURING USAGE AND AFTER. IT IS HIGHLY POTENT STUFF!
DO WEAR PPE!! Keep it locked away: it has a safety cap for very good reason!! Follow the instructions in other words!
