Shaun The Sheep
Shaun is the leader of the flock and is the hero of the show. He is smart, resourceful, as well as being mischievous and his lively personality marks him out from the rest of the flock. His maverick nature is forever leading him into tricky situations but despite his recklessness, he has an inherent sense of responsibility and will try to make amends for the chaos he causes.
Bitzer
Bitzer is the Farmer’s faithful sheepdog and also good friend to Shaun. His job is to manage the flock for the Farmer whilst also joining in with the fun and adventures, as long as the Farmer never finds out. He has a tolerant attitude to the sheep’s antics, but is ready to step in if things get seriously out of hand.
The Farmer
The Farmer is entirely oblivious to the antics of his flock. He goes about his business with a dogged dependability, expressing little emotion except the occasional burst of frustration when things go wrong, or an air of bemusement at the result of some of Shaun’s antics. Like all human characters in the show, we see him from the animals’ point of view and his speech comes across as a series of grunts and mumbles.
Shirley
Four times the size of any other member of the flock, Shirley has to be pushed from place to place and can eat just about anything that comes her way. She is the butt of jokes but often the source of great comedy moments and has been known to save the day! Her capacious fleece provides a good hiding place for all manner of unlikely items.
Timmy & his Mum
Timmy is the toddler in the flock. He is an adorable character, usually portrayed with his yellow dummy in his mouth and carrying an orange teddy bear. Not quite as innocent as he looks he has an alarming propensity for getting into dangerous situations. Timmy’s mum is often close by and can be identified by the rollers in her hair.
Hazel
Hazel is of a nervous disposition and easily startled. She reacts to most situations with a trademark fearful bleat. But she sometimes digs deep for courage when the occasion demands it.
Nuts
Nuts is as eccentric as he looks. He lives in a world of his own and his behaviour is best described as “off the wool”.
The Twins
The Twins are typical boisterous siblings and are always up for a scrap – usually with each other.
The Flock
They are never identified by name but are always there to carry out Shaun and Bitzer’s commands. For most part, the flock are typical sheep- content to spend the day chewing the cud but when Shaun gets an idea into his head, they are only too happy to follow where he leads. They are easily amused and even more easily influenced- they provide an enthusiastic audience for Shaun’s shenanigans, and willingly throw themselves into whatever plans he hatches. Equally they can be clumsy, cowardly and are none too bright- their incompetence all too often undermines Shaun’s more ambitious exploits.
The Pigs
The pigs are rivals to the sheep and take great pleasure in disrupting Shaun’s plans, though they are too lazy to come up with any good ideas for themselves. They are depicted as stupid and irreverent and are easily distracted by food!
Product description
Shaun persuades Bitzer to take part in his game of cricket but Bitzer is more worried about the condition of the pitch than the game. The resident moles, unhappy at the game taking place above their head, get involved in a tit for tat with Bitzer which soon escalates to full scale war.
Shaun the Sheep is a firm family favourite with audiences all over the world and these episodes offer even more outrageous inventiveness, sheepish shenanigans and panic in the pasture. Don’t miss your appointment for more fun on the farm with Shaun the Sheep.
