Product description

Stunning locomotives to bring your miniature world to life. Hornby’s stunning model locomotives span the golden age of steam right up to the latest intercity trains. So wherever and whenever your model railway is set, there is a wide choice of engines, all in the correct livery and with appropriate rolling stock available. Whichever you choose, you are guaranteed beautiful, detailed models for any OO-gauge electric layout. Built in August 1899 at Nine Elms, LSWR 120 entered traffic allocated to the same shed, not moving on to Fratton until July 1937. In June 1947, 120 moved to Eastleigh and was renumbered to 30120 while allocated there, but from May 1951 the locomotive regularly moved sheds. Finally making its way back to Eastleigh in November 1961 as the only survivor of the class and preserved as part of the National Collection, 30120 was outshopped from Eastleigh Works in March 1962 following a heavy casual repair and was returned to service in LSWR green, working ordinary services as well as special trains, until July 1963. 30120 is currently on loan at the Swanage Railway, pending expiry of its boiler certificate in September 2020. Please note, box and model dimensions are shown as identical however only represent the box/package size.

Lovely loco, running it looks great. Only thing that was a let down was amazon delivery driver leaving it on a wet door mat! Fortunately I got it before any damage done.

An unusual loco era and unique colour scheme, this will turn heads on a layout. The loco runs well on DC and also DCC and does not judder. Decent weight and reasonable access to the tender for DCC fitting. Mine is quiet when running.
Hornby have done well to get the colour correct but it can just look a little plasticy and the wheels could have been cleaned up better. Otherwise good hornby standard.
