7th Circle, the 1st book in the Hades series and interconnected string of series based in Shadow Grove.I hate to say it but I think I like Hades better than MK... I feel like hades has the badass boss b*tch thing MK was trying to have. I still love the MK series more (right now) because of the MMC's alone. Don't hate me, you'll see why I feel this way.Now onto the actual review.Hayden... aka Hades.... aka Daria, Dare, Darling, Ma'am, Sir, aka Red is this badass FMC who is one damaged and ruthless girl because of her past. In this series this woman IS in charge, not just attempting or acting to be like some other fmc's. She is the sole caregiver to her little sister Seph and would do ANYTHING to keep her safe although other mc's would also do absolutely anything for her. Hades is the definition of psychotic b*tch but in the best way possible. She shoots people in the head, she gives kill orders, she makes people pay and most importantly she is always in charge... except for in bed. Her men (her men and boy?) worship her. The groveling is really doing it for me here.This brings me to the 3 MMC's. Lets start in the order of introduction. Zed, he is not only Hades second in command but also her best friend. We all know by know he has current feelings for her and maybe ones that never left. Cass, technically we met him in MK but lets focus on his involvement in 7th Circle. Ole' Grumpy Cat. THIS IS MY MANNNNN!!!! I will not allow slander. Cass is the current leader of The Reapers and who turned down Hades because of "age" (crazy right??) Remember when I said Hades is not in control in the bedroom? Cass is why, I just know it. But then that brings us Lucas... I am not a fan of Lucas. Why? You ask. Well he just doesn't seem to fit well with Hades. I mean anything can happen right? I just can't rap my head around little Gumdrop being right for her... or being rough enough in bed.All in al I already love this series and must continue on as Tate is the QUEEN of cliffhangers.

    I LOVED the MK series. I just want to toss that there first so that if you read the MK series and liked or loved it then you’ll know this is definitely another series to dive into.

    I’m going to TRY to get through this without very many spoilers.

    Hades is truly awesome. She (yes it’s a she, no I’m not going to say her name(s)) is completely bada** while at the same time still being a young woman with faults, emotions, and self-doubt. I loved that she was written to have so many different sides to her personality and not just a frozen over hard exterior that she mostly matched her interior to as well. She FEELS…a lot. She second guesses a lot. She’s unsure of some things a lot. But she’s also determined, smart, and when she makes a choice or when work is involved she locks it down quickly and efficiently. I might have a bit of a girl crush on her. She’s not snarky just for the sake of being snarky (I love you MK but you had moments where I just wanted to shake you to shut your mouth). Her confidence in front of those around her is sexy and empowering, and I’m a little bit jealous. Hades deals with a lot in this book. She has a rejection from a crush, a younger man coming out of nowhere and being insanely persistent (and sexy as sin), and an ex crush turned friend that is acting strange and giving her weird thoughts and feelings. On top of her emotional stuff there is also the not so small matter of running her territory, gang issues, drug issues, cop issues, and the tiny problem of her ex-fiancé that she killed five years ago seemingly coming back from the dead to stalk and terrorize her. Girl has a lot on her plate.
    I loved Cass from the MK series and I’m so happy that he’s getting some more time in this series. Lucas is sexy and pushy in the best ways. I like that he’s written so well that you can tell his age while you’re reading it but he’s not immature. He doesn’t act stupid like most younger guys do, acting before they think.
    Zed is, well, he has my heart in this series. I can’t honestly explain why just yet…but he does.

    And the fact that Archer and Steele (who I’m still obsessed with) made very small appearances in the book was fantastic!

    There is a cliffhanger, like usual. I am so anxious to read the next book in the series. The writing is great, the steam level is off the charts, the characters are so different and still likeable, and the world is insanely immersive.

    The Madison Kate books are - were - the best I've ever read and I adore the characters, the storyline, the plot... so many feels - this was mainly the reason I pre-ordered the 7th Circle book.

    As soon as it appeared on my dashboard I started reading and within a few hours I've devoured every chapter of 7th Circle and fallen absolutely in love with the main characters.

    This book was so good and I'm still reeling from the ending - I'm sorry Tate James, possible genius or no, I kinda hate you right now. Just a tiny bit because I now have to wait for the next book.

    No spoilers because #MustRead... I'm super stoked to see how the story develops because what I've seen so far is amazing and I think Hades' story will officially be my number one from now on.

    Hades' character is amazing, I love the close family relationship she has with her sister. It's always something that's misused in other novels.

    The fight scenes were awesome, I love the fact that Hades is a #Queen and her guys respect that. There is no problem with the fact that a women is Hades and became one of the most feared people in her tri-state area.

    In fact I'm super SUPER happy that Tate James writes about female characters who are as badass as the guys if not more so.

    I can't wait to see how the story grows.
    I have to say, the anticapation will surely kill me... this book was definitely that good.

    Lucas is definitely my favourite, I'm hoping to hear more of his backstory too - of course in saying this I'm also still stuck on the last page of the book so...

    I've already pre-ordered the next book - if I can survive the current suspense...

    I am absolutely in love with this series and it’s only book 1! Hades is one of the best female main character I have read, major girl crush happening right now!

    This book was a fantastic way to set up the whole series, I am hooked. There is mystery from the past, suspense of what is happening presently and all the questions it arises easily sucks you into this story.

    Not to mention the character development. This is a RH story, Hades has three men in her life- Lucas, Cass and Zed. I’m not sure how these three agree to ‘share’ but I am dying to find out. The personalities of the three of them are all so different, and bring out the best sides of Hades. Seeing their reactions to each other and relationships change/develop as the book went one was great, and so well written!
    I absolutely loved Hades, she is one bada$$ heroine and her inner thoughts are perfection- they can even be hilarious at times. I love a good book where I can laugh out loud, root for the characters, tie in some emotional moments and have me on the edge of my seat needing to find out more….this one has it all!

    As always, Tate James leaves us with some crazy good cliffhangers and this is no different! I will be diving into Anarchy immediately!

    I was a bit reluctant to start this series because of the possible crossovers from her MK series. But the blurb and the cover where just to tempting. I’m glad I gave this ‘universe’ another change after DNFing MK and DAMN Hades was awesome. 😍I really love Lucas’s character and with that cliffhanger I just need to have the next book ASAP 😅 the references to MK weren’t too distracting (I only read 1 1/2 books of that series) and the story line of Hades was really engaging. I just have to say, hades is exactly the right balance of bad*ss b*tch and emotional. I love that she is a boss and acted like it. Ps. I also liked how she handles Cass😆.

    Tate James is my hero. I’ve loved every single one of her books so far. She has the amazing ability to write in a way that keeps you hooked, frantically reading from one page to the next as you chant to yourself “just one chapter more, just one chapter more.”
    The characters in this series have so much depth. I love the bad ass fmc, Hades, such a fierce woman ruling what is typically a man’s world.
    Her men are all very different; Cass is the older tattooed hottie, leader of the Reapers. Zed is a complete man-whore who realises he’s in love with her and has been her best friend from childhood and her right hand man. And lastly we have Lucas who is a lot younger, totally gorgeous and completely head over heals for Hades. The steamy scenes between Hades and her guys are hot, hot, hot. She’s not some shy, innocent girl who’s afraid of her sexuality. She knows what she wants and she takes it. I love reading about fmc’s who are completely comfortable in their sexuality.
    It’s not just the insane level of sexual tension between Hades and her men that make this book a great read. It’s the action and the twists and turns in the storyline, taking the reader down a dark path into Hades’ past. This book does end on a cliffhanger so be warned. I waited til the whole series had been completed before I started reading so I wouldn’t have to endure the torture of waiting for the next book!
    This is an amazing start to the Hades series. I’ve already bought the next book and I’m good to go!
    Thanks Tate James for another brilliant book. I would expect nothing less from you. I appreciate the escape from reality more than words can say.
