- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2014I really enjoy this book. It has useful information and good insights about American Culture. I have only used it for a class in college but I am pleased with it.
And it came on time. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2013I had to buy this for my introductory American History course at uni, and though it was a bit of a pain, there was always something interesting whenever we had a required reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2012American Cultural Studies written by a couple of British professors. The book could be so awesome, the material has so much potential. Unfortunately, the word choices these guys make could be more interesting - I feel like they use the biggest most archaic words they can as often as possible. There is typically only 1-2 paragraphs per page making for horrible use of white space that is intimidating to read. Constant quotations and citations make the reading even messier.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2012This is an exploration of various aspects of US life that acknowledges that it seeks to examine American history from the new perspective. That being in the last 20 or 30 years history seen simply as the story of the elite class is not sufficient. There is a fair amount of jargon but wading past it does provide some good basic insights.
