If you’re interested in Western history of the late 1800s from an indigenous perspective, this is a good read, I’m anxious to try to trace some of her journeys based on her descriptions of terrain and use of place names. The book is a stark testament to the treatment of native Americans by the US government, as well as some of its citizens.
