49 customers mention "Leakage"10 positive39 negative

Customers are unhappy with the leakage from the gravity beverage dispenser. They mention that it has begun to leak where the water is dispensed, the water barely drips through the spout, and spills all over when you take it out of the fridge. The cap falls off and the water drops on the kitchen floor. The spigot does not let air into the jug, creating a vacuum, and the water flows out of this so slowly that filling a water bottle is irritating. While the jug is sturdy, it does not completely empty out.

7 customers mention "Air flow"0 positive7 negative

Customers find the gravity beverage dispenser's air flow poor. They report that there is no way for air to enter to allow water to continue coming out. There is no vent, and there is no hole to prevent a vacuum from forming.

"...Sealing up is good, but when you want to dispense fluid, there must be an inlet for air, otherwise the low pressure in the container slows the flow..." Read more

Don’t bother/doesn’t work properly
Well, first off was the stickers all over the product, when I received it. All of which were glued onto it, requiring considerable scrubbing/use of goof off to remove. WHY do companies do that? Interestingly, the cap sticker was easily peeled off with no residue.Second, the tap leaked when first installed. Now, when tightened, it does properly function... running for about 5 seconds, then stopping until you lift tap free of water and bleed it. See video.

2 gallons is a perfect size for me. It's important to secure the faucet securely into the plastic jug. The spigot actually has two different settings of flow, which is very convenient. Highly recommended.

UPDATE : The company read my review about the leakage issue and immediately sent me a new, complete (not just the tap) bottle assembly at no charge to me. Nor did they require or ask me to return the defective one. This bottle was identical to the the other one except for the color of the tap. Along with the bottle was a nice personal letter of apology for the problem. Obviously this company cares about it's customers and stands behinds it's products! I can now fully recommend both!
As always... I will update my review (again) if anything changes! I have used a saying for many years and find it to be very true; "EVERYONE makes mistakes, but it's the way that we remedy them that define us"!

I read the reviews AFTER I bought this — I know, you’re supposed to read them first. But if I had, I probably wouldn’t have bought this! I really like it and I would have missed out!

The people complaining that it leaks must not have installed the spigot tight enough. I followed the directions that were kindly posted here in reviews by another purchaser and was able to easily install it myself with the help of a small screwdriver to push the gasket tight, and a wrench to tighten it once I got it finger tight. No problem at all, and I’m not even strong or healthy at the moment.

Only one sticker on the outside was removed easily as well. I may drill a small hole in the cap if there’s a problem with air flow. Hasn’t been necessary yet though.

Thinking about getting another if I can make room in the fridge. We have a local spring where I can load up on free Maine spring water!

I recommend this. Never mind the complainers.

There are some large oversights in the design of this container.

Once filled, this goes in my fridge as a sports drink dispenser for use in the home.

You MUST loosen the large screw-off lid in order for air to get into the container. Sealing up is good, but when you want to dispense fluid, there must be an inlet for air, otherwise the low pressure in the container slows the flow to a trickle. Imagine a very, very slow water cooler bottle with too small a spout opening to allow the dropping fluid level to bubble.

The pour valve is a bit "drippy", so a small plate or towel below the spout is important.

The worst issue is the shape of the container, where the spout mounts. Instead of that area of the container being recessed a bit, it sticks out way too far. And it's very low location on the front means the spout must hang over a ledge, else the weight of the container will rest on the spout. Although a higher placement means there would be some fluid left in the container once the level is below the spout inlet, this is too low for use in a refrigerator and makes it a risk for snapping off when transported to/from the kid's soccer games.

On the plus side, the screw-off lid covers a generous-sized opening for very easy washing inside container and seems to seal well (too well to allow air in when needed.) The handle design is comfortable and placed in the right spot on top to make carrying easier when full. The overall design of the tank is also good, making a convenient shape to deal with for it's capacity.

The negative points are too high to recommend purchase, although a redesign of the tank would likely change this.

I can’t remember the last time I wrote a product review. This jug is not terrible, however, for as much as water dispensers cost, it lasted me about 3 weeks and I was pretty disappointed.

To be as fair as possible, the jug was sitting in my for 2 days in 90 degree weather, probably 3/4 full. It was over the weekend and I usually refill it to bring to my work office Mondays. It was a slow leak and didn’t realize it until I picked it up with my car mats soaked. It remained 1/2 full but that’s still a lot of water to be spilled in a car.

100% my fault for not being aware of the water level in the jug but I have a different brand of the same 2-gallon water dispenser, put in the same situation over the weekend, and have never had any issues with leakage.

I COULD buy another and be more careful with it… but if I can have a different brand that I don’t have to worry about leakage at all and spend an extra $5, I’m definitely going with the better option. Too many larger stressors in life to worry about small nuisances that subconsciously add up.

And that is my opinion on this little water jug.
