I began watching in 1960 or 1961 after seeing “The Legend of Tom Dooley” movie starring Michael Landon. It was love at first sight. I was 11 or 12 years old and thought he was the cutest thing I had ever seen. While at the refreshment counter at the movie theater my friend told me he was in Bonanza every week. I was thrilled and began watching it faithfully. It was also the first western and maybe first TV show televised in color. This was a HUGE DEAL back then. We didn’t have a color TV set. I finally saw it in color about five years later at my uncle’s house. It was gorgeous. I particularly love the comedy episodes, The Flapjack Contest, The Gunman, Joe Cartwright Detective, Ponderosa Explosion, etc. it was a well done family show and the best of all the westerns in my opinion. I saw them all because my Daddy loved all westerns. I made my boyfriend bring me home early on Sunday night so I could see Bonanza. In those days you had to watch it when it was aired. I now watch and have recorded all the reruns. Bonanza has been a lifetime adventure for me. I hope all of you enjoy it at least half as much as I have.
