3. Please make sure the lid covers the carafe tightly in order to get the best HRA (heat retaining property). Do not filled a full pot of coffee or tea, only filled to 4/5 coffee to leave

    It is very lightweight and the double walls are so thin that at first I thought it was not double walled, so I checked it by filling it with hot water, and it worked great. In 4 hours the water temp went from 190F to 178F, which is great.
    The opening diameter is 1.5 inch round. The "lid" is a hinged "stopper" with rubber seal. It looks kind of flimsy and will probably break eventually, but considering the price of this thing, it's great. I bought it for serving large portions of gravy in potlucks, and it works great for that. If I were going to use it for strictly liquids, I'd recommend a coffee carafe instead, but for what I use it for, it is great. Did I mention I think it's great?

I use carafes for events so customers can try my new tea flavors. The release the liquid inside, you need to press the top. Because the lid is sealed (to ensure nothing spills), it can be difficult to open (especially with one hand which is what most of my customers do). Otherwise, this carafe is a wonderful addition to my carafe collection (which is getting too large).

    When I received the product, I didn't realize that the two parts of the jar—the kettle outlet with handle and the kettle body—weren't properly locked together. When I poured hot water into it while holding the handle, the kettle body fell off! Hot water splashed everywhere. Luckily, no one was hurt.
    If you've bought or plan to buy this kettle, before using it, make sure you properly rotate and lock the handle with both the kettle outlet and body until they're tight. I recommend not buying this product at all due to its serious safety risk!
