works okay, not sure why it needs power

works okay, not sure why it needs power
I got this 4-channel 1/8 '' audio mixer from Cubilux. I mainly intend to use it practicing my bass with an audio recording. I also will take it out on sound gigs to have as one of those "just in case it comes in handy" tools. It works as intended. I'm not sure why it needs USB-C power, since it doesn't seem to give any boost to signals. I usually get about as much signal out as with a passive 2-channel mixer I have. For what I'm doing this is sufficient. It's small enough and solidly constructed.

    Cubilux 4-Channel 3.5mm Audio Mixer

I have been setting up an very old audio setup, and needed this mixer for device connection.
I have a pair of Bose speakers that are at least 30 years old, with the old RCA jack inputs. That needed connection to a TV cable modem, a CD player, an external DVD player, and a phone audio out. I had to do some adopting with the HDMI on the cable modem, but everything else was plug and play.
After reducing the RCA plugs on the speakers to a 3.5mm jack for the out port on the mixer, I was able to set up an easy to operate system for all the inputs.
This is the solution for connecting older equipment that was built before CD, DVD, and phones were even around.
The quality of sound is excellent. My Bose speakers sound as good as any new speakers I test it against, like the JBL wireless. The mixer is powered, so no degradation of sound occurs.
This 4 channel mixer is excellent build quality, not pro quality but very high. The knobs are smooth to operate, and all ports fit the plugs with a firm connection. The case is very well milled and smooth at the edges.
I would recommend this 4 channel audio mixer to anyone who is looking for a small audio mixer for multiple devices.

Bought this to run the multiple computers on my desktop through my one set of computer speakers. I like the size, I like the physical build quality. I had two major complaints though.

    - It isn't noise free. In fact some volume settings are noisier than than others. (Knob set at one position, crackly sound, turn it just a touch, now better). Not all channels have the same noise level.
    - The volume for the individual channels doesn't go to zero. So if I'm playing music on one computer, and then I want to take a call on a different computer I can't turn the music channel to zero to mute it. Still works to level out the music between the computers without having to go to the gui of each one to adjust.

My minor complaints are that the knobs are so close they are a bit hard to turn for someone like me with big fingers... and like another reviewer, I question the decision to put the power jack on the front.

Overall it is is a bit meh. Not bad enough to make me not want to use it and return it, but not good enough for me to recommend it to others.
