- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024I was nervous about doing this but it was a last resort before scrapping a bunch of fittings due to a leak in a very awkward place. But I need not have been worried - this thing just flat worked! Got the job done in a few minutes and put it back together - leak free this time. IMPORTANT - based on an earlier review here I checked the alignment of the cutter carefully before using, and as the prior reviewer mentioned it said it was NOT square from the factory. It came with a hex wrench, so it was almost trivial to loosen it, align it, and tighten it. I put it in my vise to keep it square while tightening. Without this step I fear the results would have been terrible - cutting too deep and gouging badly. I recommend this tool, but PLEASE align the cutter before using.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2024I used this to ream out some pvc couplers. Worked well - it gets hot, so take some breaks. Also, let the tool do the work, don't force it. I was able to reuse the couplings and not start over with new ones.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2024This worked great! It saved us from having to dig up a clean out tee to replace a broken pipe above the tee.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid pipe fitting reamer tool with a minor flaw that you can make work properly.
The DAYDOOR PPR300 3'' Plastic Pipe Fitting Reamer is an overall solid tool with one minor flaw.
First lets cover the minor flaw with this reamer: There is a tiny bit of excessive machining tolerance (too much material removed) around the reamer body carbide insert location. The first 10 photos I added to this review show the carbide insert installed from the factory at a slight angle to the reamer body. If you were to leave the carbide insert installed like this and reamed out a PVC socket, then it would not only have a rough/gouged finished cut, but it would also be oversized. Niether result would be accceptable.
Luckily all you need to do when installing a new carbide insert (or rotating the current insert for a new cuting edge) onto the reamer body is to push and hold the carbide insert up against the body while tightening the 3/32" allen bolt. My final 2 review photos show the Daydoor carbide insert in it's correct installion location.
My 2" pipe reamer is the Holdly brand (Red & Black colors) that is shown side by side in 3 of my review photos and it's reamer body carbide insert location machining tolerances are tighter, thus not allowing for the carbide insert to be incorrectly installed with a tilted cutting face. This is a win for the Holdly brand.
The DAYDOOR PPR300 3'' Plastic Pipe Fitting Reamer uses SAE allen wrenches for the hex key shaft set screw (1/8") and the carbide insert allen screw (3/32"). That is a nice touch for USA based workers.
This Daydoor 3" pipe reamer also has a one-piece body, unlike my Holdly 2" pipe reamer which has a 2-piece reamer body. The 1-piece reamer body is a better overall design. Simple works best in most cases. A win for the Daydoor brand.
I also like that the Daydoor 3" pipe reamer has a set screw for it's hex shaft retention. My Holdly 2" pipe reamer only uses a ball with spring detent for it's hex shaft retention. Another win for the Daydoor brand.
In closing, I recommend the DAYDOOR PPR300 3'' Plastic Pipe Fitting Reamer. Just pay attention when installing/rotating the carbide insert.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2024Not a plumber but need it something like this for my self, tools will pay it self in a short time.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2024I used this item to remove a pipe from a 3" fitting and it wouldn't cut butter. The blade felt sharp but the design was not conducive to the job it was employed to do. When you apply pressure to get the blade cutting, it just spun in the fitting and would not cut. I wouldn't recommend this item.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2024I finally got a chance to use this tool; I'm reworking some of the 3" PVC drain lines in my basement, and there are places where two fittings were placed close together such that there was not enough pipe between them to attach a coupling or any other fitting. That's where this tool really shines.
By cutting off the old pipe right against the hub of the existing fitting, I can use the fitting saver tool to slice away the remaining stub of old pipe inside the hub of the fitting, leaving it perfectly ready to receive a new piece of pipe, or a street elbow in some cases.
The tool works well, but be sure you're holding onto your drill really well. Sometimes the tool will take a hard bite and it could really torque your wrist if you're not careful.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2024I love these fitting savers! Now, instead of replumbing an entire stack or opening up walls every time I need to make a repair, I can cut it flush and use this to save the fitting. This is a lifesaver and has saved me so much time so far. I've used this one for three fittings so far, and it still seems very sharp. I don't know how durable it'll be in the long term, but I'll definitely buy another if I wear it out.
