112 customers mention "Fabric quality"80 positive32 negative

Customers like the fabric quality. They say it's a nice, crisp piece of natural linen that stitches up beautifully. It feels sturdy, thick, and has the right texture for embroidery work. The fabric holds its shape well in an embroidery hoop and doesn't stretch out easily.

"...It's a good weight, feels sturdy not really much stretch...." Read more

"...Thick and good quality!" Read more

"...The fabric is overall a decent quality. It is one that will fray easily so utilizing pinking shears is a good way to work with this material." Read more

"...It’s also really durable (away from the edges), lets a good (medium) amount of light through, and is a very neutral, natural-looking off-white...." Read more

49 customers mention "Embroidery ability"36 positive13 negative

Customers like the embroidery fabric. They say it works well for ribbon embroidery, has a nice structure, and is great for hand embroidery on natural linens. It's excellent for beginners as the fabric isn't too tight. Some customers use it as backing for homemade pillows and needlework.

"Beautiful smooth linen; soft after washing. Great for my embroidery work." Read more

"...But once inside an embroidery hoop, it is nice and taught and good for embroidering so I will most likely be buying from them again." Read more

"...It is fairly soft and feels good on the skin. But not for embroidery. Also, beware the edges, it does come apart easily." Read more

"I really like the color of the fabric. It was great for these two embroidery patterns I had. It wasn’t so great for another one...." Read more

44 customers mention "Functionality"33 positive11 negative

Customers like the fabric's functionality. They say it works well for practicing embroidery, letting a good amount of light through, and is thick and heavy. Some mention that the weave could be tighter, but overall it works nicely for learning and practicing. The material shipped fast and efficiently.

"I made my first handsewn bunnies using this fabric, it worked perfect! Thick and good quality!" Read more

"...It’s also really durable (away from the edges), lets a good (medium) amount of light through, and is a very neutral, natural-looking off-white...." Read more

38 customers mention "Color"31 positive7 negative

Customers like the fabric's color. They mention it has a natural look and nice structure for embroidery. The lighter color is loved for projects, and the quality and color are consistent. It will make a nice summery liner for a new purse.

"...the shades on my existing ones with this fabric and they turned out beautifully! I am very pleased!" Read more

"...Pros: Soft, smooth, slightly stretchy but not too much, even coloring and maybe a little rustic looking...." Read more

"...(medium) amount of light through, and is a very neutral, natural-looking off-white...." Read more

24 customers mention "Weave"0 positive24 negative

Customers find the fabric's weave loose and thin for embroidery. They mention it's not tightly woven, has flaws in the weave where the material is tighter or looser in areas, and can't even hold a stitch.

"...I could see the flaws in the weave where the material is tighter or looser in areas and the weird spots where the material has a loose thread..." Read more

"...somewhat low thread count, which makes it next to impossible to make fine stitches close together...." Read more

"Fabric was very loosely woven and fell apart after washing" Read more

"...The price is cheap, so the fabric is too. The fabric was loosely woven which is something that people may not like including myself...." Read more

13 customers mention "Texture"0 positive13 negative

Customers dislike the fabric's texture. They say it feels like burlap and is too coarse for their projects. The thread count is low, like homespun, and it doesn't iron out well.

"They are not as soft asI would have expected. They fit the mattress well. Deep pockets. They look nice." Read more

"...option for the tighter knit and smoother surface and this one feels a bit like burlap." Read more

"...Otherwise I wish it was a little tighter weave and it could be softer but hopefully the finished product will come out the way I want...." Read more

Good quality but has some flaws
This was my first time buying a linen material for needlepoint and for my purposes/project I purchased it for this is fine. Overall the material is soft enough and easy to work with. Although does require a bit more patience on my part. Let's chalk that up to my own inexperience with cross stich linens.Pros: Soft, smooth, slightly stretchy but not too much, even coloring and maybe a little rustic looking.Cons: Has a bit of pilling or lint coming off the fabric, threads come loose in spots in the middle, a few rogue darker threads throughout, not 100% even all over.I could see the flaws in the weave where the material is tighter or looser in areas and the weird spots where the material has a loose thread (in the center not the edges) being a problem for someone doing a very precise project. I'm fine with it because of what I'll end up doing with it, but buyer be warned. If you're okay with a few minor imperfections that you probably won't see from far away or unless your project is examined under a microscope then this is a great purchase.I am told that if I want a perfect evenweave I need to ourchase a zweigart fabric.

The Navy-Blue color is exactly as depicted and described. Instead of spending money for a pair of new lamps, I updated the shades on my existing ones with this fabric and they turned out beautifully! I am very pleased!

Bought for table linen. Machine washed and dried, It did shrink 2" in length, width not effected, I was expecting some version of white, but this is plainly ecru. I planned to do a small table cloth with a crewel embroidery design. I think it can still work as the colors I'm using will be quite muted. It's a good weight, feels sturdy not really much stretch. Probably should have zigzagged the edges before laundering to stop so much fraying in the wash. I will continue with my plans but change to a table runner instead. Overall I'm ok with this fabric just wanted a white color. It'll do for my present purposes.

There is no stretch to this fabric which is how it is supposed to be. The fabric is overall a decent quality. It is one that will fray easily so utilizing pinking shears is a good way to work with this material.

This worked alright for me when I first started embroidery a few months ago — there are definitely pros & cons.

If you’re a beginner and/or planning to stitch with all 6 strands of embroidery floss (rather than separating them/using a finer weight thread), you may like this better than finer fabrics like Muslim or quilting cotton — the weave will allow the floss to pass without much friction, and it’s not prone to puckering at all.

It’s also really durable (away from the edges), lets a good (medium) amount of light through, and is a very neutral, natural-looking off-white.

After using this for a while, I found that those finer & more tightly-woven cotton fabrics I mentioned are more suited to my style of embroidery. Do consider that I use 12-50wt cotton thread and #26-28 tapestry needles, which are significantly more delicate than standard embroidery floss & needles.

This linen has a somewhat low thread count, which makes it next to impossible to make fine stitches close together. It also frays really badly no matter how well you cut it.
Mine was shedding from the edges, requiring frequent trimming; pulling at a loose thread will unravel a whole row.
That may just be the nature of this kind of fabric, but the fraying made it extremely hard to finish a hoop/stitch the edges. You’ll need to use extra to account for this.

All that said, this linen is decent, and I didn’t want to waste what was left over after switching fabrics. I’ll be using the remaining ~50”x30” to make a lampshade. I’m guessing it’ll be perfect for that purpose… as long as I cut very very straight and use hemming tape asap.
