Actor Stephen Lang's stunning performance brings alive the story of the battle and Lincoln's nation-changing address. The audio tour is downloaded to the HereStory GPS enabled mobile app for Apple iOS or Google Android smartphones and tablets along with 3 compact disks. The tour covers all 3 days of the battle with 3 tour options ranging from 2 to 3 hours. The companion 72 page full color guidebook is packed with art, photos, text and more. The 14 full color maps are stunning, easy to understand and feature panoramic orientation guides to help visitors quickly get their bearings. Filmmaker Ken Burns call “a thrilling experience.” Author Doris Kearns-Goodwin describes it as “Brilliant and moving.” The tour is based on the works of renowned historian and author, Gabor Boritt. Founder of the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College, for over thirty years he has given battlefield tours to luminaries ranging from Moses (aka Charlton Heston) to the President of the United States - and many others. Now this unique experience is brought to you by acclaimed actor Stephen Lang ( Colonel Quaritch in 'Avatar,' Stonewall Jackson in 'Gods & Generals,' Ike Clanton in 'Tombstone,' and George Pickett in 'Gettysburg'). It is written and produced by filmmaker Jake Boritt who created the popular film ‘The Gettysburg Story’ as companion to this experience.

Perfect for self guided tour during Covid-19
Of course, you need to understand the battle ahead of time. So, I suggest that you listen to the 3 disc set ahead of time. And, maybe watch some documentaries on Gettysburg before you go. (YouTube has a ranger Matt of Gettysburg that is amazing). It's a large battlefield and it will take you at least 2 days to see everything. If you get out and walk around-plan on 3 days at the battlefield. Don't forget about the actual town of Gettysburg too. On your last day there be sure to go to the Shriver House to see what it was like for the townspeople of Gettysburg. Simply an amazing authentic home restored to 1863 specs. If you're traveling during Covid-19 and want to do so safely we stayed at an Airbnb right on Fairfield and it was amazing! The Dobbins House has a very safe outdoors eating area with wonderful food. I recommend going Monday through Thursday or Friday at the latest because Saturday was way to crowded to be safe... and Saturday is completely out for walking around downtown because hardly anyone was wearing a mask shoulder to shoulder and inside shops too. Do all of your souvenir shopping at the Shriver House too. The Jennie Wade house was great too. You have to schedule a private tour through Ghostly Images. For under $100 you have the place to yourself. If you really want to get into specifics of Gettysburg research the Sachs Covered Bridge and The Black Horse Tavern. There is a podcast on Sach's Covered Bridge to summarize the Civil War usage.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2021It history or just the civil war is your happy place this is the tour for you. We have used this auto tour several times with family and friends and are always entertained, the enormity of this battle in our history is almost unfathomable. But driving the battlefield and seeing it through the eyes of the narrator is phenomenal.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2021I bought this to go along with my dad's dream trip to Gettysburg. It was perfect! He still listens to it, with the book, in his house. It follows along the audio tour perfect. The voices, the sounds, the turn by turns down the roads.... I can not say enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2021I really enjoyed the experience. Between the well written text, dramatic reading by Stephen Lang and sound effects. You really got put into the action and get a fine perspective of the Battle of Gettysburg. If you are going there then these CDs are a worth while investment.
