Her Second Chance Cowboy: Western Romance (Brothers of Miller Ranch Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2,747 ratings

When Ben accompanies his mother to an old friend’s funeral…the last person he expects to see is her.

As the eldest son of the wealthy Miller family, Ben Miller is content with helping his brothers run their family’s ranch in Montana. Well… mostly content. There’s a certain something missing from his life, and he’s done a good job denying it for the past decade.

Until
she rolled back into town…

After ten years fighting to make it in the Big Apple, full-figured Chastity finds herself heading back to the one place she vowed she’d never return. But a tragedy in the family forced her home, and she finds herself facing an uncertain future.

Ben and Chastity were high school sweethearts whose three-year relationship ended dramatically. But they were once in the head-over-heels, can’t-breathe-without-you kind of love. And now, they suddenly find themselves pushed into each other’s lives again in the most surprising of circumstances.

They were sweethearts in High school. Some how their plans fell apart. Noe she was back for her Dad's funeral. Could they find a way back or were they dumbed to a life of loneliness and pain.
Very good story with characters you routed for.
Definitely worth your time.

This is a second chance romance story. Chastity and Ben had been very close in high school but then she moved away and they lost touch with each other. Chastity is an irritating character, stubborn and hard-headed. She is always ready for a fight. Ben, on the other hand is easy going and flexible even though he can get angry. Sparks fly when the two clash. Interesting and entertaining.

This was a little hard to read, having just been though caring for a family member with dementia. But, it was written respectfully, and to truth in how awful it can be. I liked her decision about her mom in the end. We all need a man like Ben.

I hope to find more from this author. It drew me in from beginning to end. Having a couple that stays chaste until the wedding is so rare. It doesn’t happen that way very often these days. Thanks for a book that shows how parents are supposed to respond to children, children who interact with parents/brothers/sisters properly, as well as Church people who are lovingly caring for each other—well, just THANK YOU for the joy that reading this has brought me!

Book one about Ben, a Miller brother, whose life is suddenly less ordered with the arrival of an old friend. A heartwarming story that makes the reader realise that nothing is ever straight forward. Anger, compassion, humour, compromise and love - they are all part of this novel.

I enjoyed this story about a young woman who reluctantly came home after her Father's death. She struggled with memories of bad treatment at school and expectations for her life she could not accept and then had to find a way to get her Mother out of debt and looked after. Fortunately there is a former boyfriend to get to know again, and a second chance for them both.
