Bosco established a network of organizations and centers to carry on his work. Following his beatification in 1929, he was canonized as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Pius XI in 1934.
A follower of the spirituality and philosophy of Saint Francis de Sales, Bosco was an ardent Marian devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title Mary Help of Christians.

Saint John Bosco 16 August 1815 - 31 January 1888, AKA Don Bosco was an Italian Roman Catholic priest, educator and writer of the 19th century. While working in Turin, where the population suffered many of the effects of industrialization and urbanization, he dedicated his life to the betterment and education of street children, juvenile delinquents, and other disadvantaged youth. Together with Maria Domenica Mazzarello, he founded a congregation of nuns dedicated to the care and education of poor girls. In 1876 Bosco founded a movement of laity mission to the poor. In 1875, he began publishings that are currently published in 50 different editions and 30 languages. The Saint received Private Revelations in dreams. Mystics and Saints are people who led a Holy life. Many Saints bodies have discovered to be incorruptible after they have been exhumed. Many Saints are known to have had visions, Apparitions. In the Catholic Church, it is encouraged to pray to Saints or to the Virgin Mary for intercession. This is called intercessory prayer. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is considered the highest form of Prayer. In the Jewish faith Prayer is considered a service of the heart, it is a Torah based commandment and it is mandatory for both Jewish men and women. People are encouraged to pray for one another and in general prayer may be practiced spontaneously by anyone at any time.
