    This MIV Yard Hydrant Head Assembly seems to be just as heavy duty as the head we needed to replace. We’ve had this type of freeze proof faucet at one of our gardens for many years. During the winter months when we’ve cut off exterior water to many areas of our small rural farm, it’s nice to be able to leave this one on without concern of freezing. I actually prefer the operational function of this type handle even in warm weather. This sturdy durable faucet can handle a lot of usage – just don’t hit it with the tractor like we did

    This was a good replacement for an existing frost free hydrant that had broken. The casting is heavy with a durable finish. The handle operates smoothly, with brass components. The hose adapter is also brass. This hydrant is the same quality as the original that I purchased from Tractor supply many years ago, very solid, and heavy duty.

    The listing says no assembly required for the replacement head, but, of course it still needs to be assembled to the existing stand pipe and inner rod. As an additional note, when screwing the head back onto the stand pipe, it may not line up in exactly the same direction as the original head. More Teflon tape or pipe dope will remedy that issue.
