About this item

  • The Only Knives You'll Ever Need: You don’t need a bulky 15-piece knife block set. With just a few high-quality kitchen knives, you can tackle almost any cooking task your heart desires AND save some counter space.
  • Premium Steel: The stainless steel knife set is crafted from AICHI steel which offers a superior balance between long lasting sharpness and durability with a higher carbon content than some other “premium” knives.
  • A Kitchen Staple: The Misen chefs knife is the definition of versatility. Perfectly balanced and ultra sharp — this tool will quickly become your new go-to. Replace that old, dull knife-set with a few quality blades you'll actually use.
  • The Perfect Assortment: Rounding out the cutlery set are the paring knife, serrated knife, santoku knife, and utility knife. Each knife is designed to excel at its specific function and more importantly, last a lifetime.
  • Unmatched Value: We could charge more for our kitchen sets, but that would be wrong. We thoughtfully curate our knife sets to ensure that you have every knife you need at a price you can afford.

Nice, functional, set of knives that is missing a honing steel to be complete

Nice, functional, set of knives that is missing a honing steel to be complete
This is a good basic set of knives that pretty much has you covered for what you will really need. What it is missing is a good steel to set the edge of the knives. You will need to do this as soon as you get this set as the edge is not yet set. Yes, it is sharp, but the edge is not set and so does not cut like it should. Once you use a steel, it is nice and I am happy with the edge.In my picture I show this set (blue handle) and another knife that I own. You can see that this set has a narrower handle and is a bit flatter. I have very large hands and it is not as comfortable as my other knife. That is why it did not get a 5 star ergonomics for my size hand. This may be perfect for people with smaller hands. Just for comparison, I take a XX glove.Once I set the edge on the knives, they have held up through a lot of dicing, slicing, etc. Without the need to sharpen. I do use a steel on the knives every time before use. Old habit, but one that has served me well. As far as actually sharpening (honing is not sharpening), you will need a good set of whet stones. Judging from how these are holding up, you will probably only need to do it once a year, if that. Depends on how much you actually use your knives.Additional note, there is a good set of what to do and not to do with your knives printed on each box. I do recommend having a towel in the kitchen to wipe the knife as you use it to keep it dry. Take care of these knives and they should last you a lifetime.I have a knife block in my kitchen drawer (easy to find on Amazon) and it works well for these knives. I prefer a drawer block because you can fit my types of knives into them where counter top blocks tend to be specific. The knives are well balanced and easy to use. I would recommend this set as long as you either have or acquire a steel or ceramic to set the edge with.

Very sharp knives, cuts as well as my Mac knife, Fit and finish is very nice (better than my Mac). Chef’s knife cut thru a ripe tomato cleanly with no bruising. Very impressed with everything I’ve cut.

Do you want a knife set that looks great as well as functions flawlessly? That is this set. These have proven to me to be amazing, they look great while doing it, and they've held up for a long time. I would absolutely purchase another set.
