Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My cooler came in with no damage to the shipping box and everything looked good from the outside. Once I opened the box I realized the handle was broken off badly on the right hand side and the cooler is scratched up bad in the area where its broken. The cooler looks very rough around the edges like the forming or molding process is very cheap and block-y compared to a YETI or RTIC, it also has a lot of small imperfections. scratches and scuffs here and there. To top it all off the cooler has no decals on it. In the picture it shows the ORCA logo and american flag logo which I like, but my color came with neither yet there is a checklist inside of it with a check beside decals like some QC person had checked it to be sure they were there. If that's the case they must be blind, I think the QC checklist is just a marketing ploy to make you think someone is personally checking the condition of the product you are buying. I am extremely disappointed in this cooler. I called ORCA to ask tell them about the missing logo's figuring I could deal with the broken handle since the cooler is going to be mounted in place and never picked up or transported. I thought the company would just send me out some logo's and me stamp them on and be done but no.. The lady I spoke with told me I would have to go online and submit a warranty request which to me is just insane I strongly recommend going with an RTIC like I had originally planned.
This a bad substitute for a yeti at a similar price. I had to return this cooler immediately. 1. Rubber latches are very hard to open. 2. When you open it, it won’t stay open. The lid doesn’t open past 89 degrees and will slam on your fingers. If you open a cooler, you would expect the lid, especially a costly one to stay open. If you try to open the lid enough to stay open, it bends the hinge pins, which only have one point of contact on each side. 3. After opening the lid 3-4 times, the hinge pin starts working its way out. If you want to buy an expensive cooler, get a yeti or pelican. Orca has some design details they need to change before this cooler can be validated for the cost.
