I had been debating with myself for a really long time of this would be too small or if it would be too cumbersome to cartop etc! The size is perfect, I can get in to some really skinny water, navigate creeks and I sometimes bring my lil buddy in the back (a 30pound Shiba), and he has a blast exploring islands and stuff with me.
The larger versions would be too much to handle for cartop especially with how much I take it out. I also never intend on going out on bigger water like the ocean or great lakes, I hear that the larger ones "track better" for that stuff.
I got no problems standing up in the kayak, I've tried bouncing and bobbing and it doesn't flip, it's a real tank!
If you buy the kayak, you have to get some wheels for it!! I scraped mine the first day being too eager to get it out. Wilderness systems makes a sweet set, they're a few hundred but they are excellent quality.
