Decent phone but I expected much more...I game up my Samsung Rant for this phone and now regret it. I had the Rant for years, never scratched the screen. This phone's screen has scratches all ready and I haven't had it very long. The internet is slow and it is more difficult to put music and picture data into it. One good thing is the text qwerty board is superior to any phone i've owned so far, and i text alot. I rate this phone a C- and wish to trade it in for something else.

Somehow talked into upgrading to this phone by a Sprint rep. Failed to mention a) no navigation on this phone b) not able to use various apps c) very poor signal. Be sure you know what you are getting before you agree.

I don't have the problems other users have with this phone because I do not have web access for my phone. If I had gone with web access, I would have gotten a smart phone like a Blackberry.

So if you just want a phone for making and receiving calls and texting, this is a good choice. It is very compact, unlike smart phones, and has a nice slideout keyboard. Also, the battery lasts several days.

This phone was an upgrade from a simpler phone without texting, and it did take a while to get used to. Making and receiving calls was cumbersome at first, but it just takes a little getting used to. This is my first phone with a touch screen, and it took some practice before I got the right amount of pressure to use with my finger. It was especially cumbersome when doing sliding maneuvers, but after a few days of playing around with it, it is no longer a problem. The instructions say to use a light touch, but I was actually using too light of a touch. Pressure on the screen is also adjustable, but I have not changed anything.

Here is an update after using this phone for several months. I guess I was optomistic about getting used to this phone. I just never got used to using the touch screen, which you need to use for most operations, including answering a call. Also, the screen, which is always exposed, got terribly scratched after several months of use. I also got tired of hearing my phone make strange beeping noises when it was in my pocket and also making the occasional "butt calls". I don't know how this happens. In order to do anything with this phone, you first have to press a side key, then expose the screen by sliding your finger from the bottom to the top of the screen. I can see how the side key could be accidentally pressed while the phone is in my pocket, but how does the screen get exposed? A mystery to me, but I have taken my phone out of my pocket several times after hearing strange beeps and the screen was fully exposed and activated. One more thing, this was my first phone where I had texting ability and one reason for purchasing it was for the large full keypad. But after a few months I got tired of texting and did not use that feature much. If I wanted to send someone a message, I would just call them.

So I traded my phone in for a simpler flip phone, a Sanyo PLS-3810. I love it. You can perform any feature this phone has by using hard buttons that work very well, much better than touch screen virtual buttons. And I have the side keys locked when the phone is closed so there is no way it can make butt calls or do anything else on its own when it is in my pocket in the closed position. It still can text, but needs to use the phone keypad, and that can be a hassle. On the other hand, these keys are about 5 times as large as the tiny full keybourd on my Seek was, so texting is actually easier. And I make less mistakes. I dropped my 300 texts per minute option that cost $5 per month and now get charged 20 cents per message. That gives me 25 texts for $5 and I have never texted that much. These days once or twice a month is about it. So I am saving a lot of money, also.

Just answering a call is so much easier. On my Seek, when it rang I had to pull it out, slide my finger from the bottom of the screen to the top, see who is calling, and if I want to answer I have to slide my finger across a bar. Honest to God, sometimes the call would go to Voicemail before I got all that done, mainly because I never seem to get the finger slides to work the first time. With the flip phone, I just pull it out, look at the outside screen to see who is calling, then if I want to answer I just flip the phone open. So much easier. Then when I am done talking, I flip the phone closed. With the Seek, even hanging up is a hassle. Usually after talking, the screen deactivates by the time you are done, so you have to do the bottom to top finger slide, then slide your finger across the "done" bar.

I have not had my flip phone long, but I am already seeing scratches on the outside surface. But at least I know that my main screen is always protected when the phone is closed.

Yes, maybe I am just old fashioned, but I refuse to get a Smart phone until the monthly charges go way down from what they are now. There is no way I am going to pay $70 to $100 per month for a cell phone. So until I join the 21st Century and get a Smart phone, I am going to stay away from touch screens.

I am so upset that I switched from my Rant to this phone! It's very irritating to make or receive calls and I'm not impressed with how the touch screen works. I wouldn't recommend it.

Hate this phone. Nice keyboard, but
      1) for the web it's worthless
      2) calls are hard to answer and make.
      The camera is decent, though.
