    Shirley Bassey remains as one of the most successful female chart acts of all time. This collection 'A Touch Of Class', recorded between 1958 and the late 1970's, shows the never changing ... timelessness of Shirley Bassey's artistry.
    This album includes evergreen show-tunes like 'As long as he needs me' (From 'Oliver'), " As Time Goes By" (From 'Casablanca') to Burt Bacharach's classic "I'll Never Fall In Love Again " & J. Brel's mellow "If You Go away".

    This recording represents another early outing on the Columbia label for Shirley a Bassey. This time the accompanying ensemble includes the Rita Williams Singers alongside the Geoff Love Orchstra. The songs are excellent and the overall effect is very pleasing. It has been suggested that Shirley was over ambitious with this album. I do not agree. Her interpretations are very good indeed and well worthy of inclusion in any Bassey collection
