- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2024Sometimes a throwback movie is just what a chic needs. The man who would blow up with you who doesn't find that twistedly romantic.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2024Definitely brings back childhood memories to watch some of the old movies with the kids. We watched this sequel with the kids and had a great movie night!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2023This movie was very beautifully photographed and, of course, Sandra Bullock was gorgeous eye candy as well as her co-star. If you're cool with a movie that has no basis whatsoever in the physical laws of the universe and you can suspend disbelief no mattrr what, you might enjoy this movie. On one hand my husband and I did and we laughed a lot as well as exclaiming "you have got to be kidding me" multiple times but, on the other hand, it was just a little too dumb for us to fully enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2024Great movie with Sandra Bullock! I could not believe what they do on a cruise ship!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2014I was surprised how good "Speed 2" was. I was never a big fan of the first movie, so I never watched it. Years passed, and this movie was panned so hard, I figured, just out of morbid curiosity I'd give it a spin. So I finally did and it was actually pretty good. The worst part about the movie was the cliche action scenes that run a little bit long. The best thing about the movie is Sandra Bullock. She was great in this. I was a little disappointed with Jason Patric. I don't know if it was the writing or what, but I've seen him perform better. I remember him from "Sleepers" and I thought he was really charismatic in that, but it took a long time to warm up to his character in "Speed 2". I think it might have been the writing. This feels like an event story. It sort of glossed over the character part. His character is cliche and not very likable at the beginning, but over the course of the movie, he becomes more likable. Guess that's a writing problem? Willem Dafoe gives a great performance as a villain here. The CGI and special effects were good, just wish there was a little more thought put into the story. There was no clear connection, even passing reference between the first and second movie, other than Sandra Bullock's character being there. Loved the driving test with Tim Conway. That was funny as hell. Not the best action movie I ever saw, but not deserving of the harsh criticisms I've heard over the years. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth watching.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2013Okay, I was only nine years old when this movie came out, and almost 16 years later it still draws me in. As has been previously been pointed out, they could have done way better with this movie, and there are some cases where I would agree to that, but I think it's still a very good movie.
Probably one of my favorite parts of this movie is Alex's character. He's an interesting contrast from Jack as there are both a lot of similarities and differences. Like Jack, he's a bit of a daredevil who is extremely dedicated to his work, both on and off the clock. This shows through the fact that he stoically looks death right in the eye at least four times throughout the movie with barely any hesitation, as long as it means keeping others out of harm's way. Meanwhile, his relationship with Annie, despite the strain, shows he's extremely devoted to her, considering how he chases down Geiger at the end of the movie to save her. At the end of the movie what I thought of was what a story that would be for Alex and Annie to tell their kids someday. Jason Patric's dead-on performance as Alex was really inpressive, considering he did a lot of his own stunt work.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than a 3 but not quite a 4
This movie is dumped on so much, it doesn't deserve the hate. Is it a classic? No. Is it brilliant or thought provoking? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. It is a chill, guilty pleasure, popcorn movie. In every way I recommend this movie. Oh Yeah! It has Sandra Bullock in it, enough said.
